Residential Broadband Service

CTM's Residential Broadband Service provides various service plans, different download and upload speeds suited for individual needs.

  • Download speeds up to 5Mbps and upload speeds up to 512Kbps
  • Integrate voice & Internet access in one line
  • Unlimited plan for high usage customer
  • Customers who have subscribed Residential Broadband Service for two or more consecutive years are entitled to receive 5% discount on the Basic Rental Plan

Only applicable to customer who has been grouped as Class A according to the Government approved Tariff Plan of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) Service.

*56K Dial up access is also provided to Residential Broadband Super Plan Customers. Either mode of access can be used at one time and the charging rate is the same for both types of access.

# Broadband service is only available on the dedicated ADSL circuit.

Remarks:

  • 5% discount on the Minimum monthly Charge Fee will be offered to the customers who have subscribed Residential Broadband Internet service for two or more consecutive years.
  • If 2 or more extensions are installed in the existing telephone line, to deploy new line is recommended in order to achieve the desirable connection speed.

Notes:

  1. Customers are bounded by the Terms & Conditions of the Service provided by CTM at www.cyberctm.com.
  2. Application must be submitted by the parents or guardian on behalf of the applicant who is below 18 years old.
  3. The service bandwidth is not allowed to be shared directly or indirectly beyond the connection address for pecuniary, beneficial gains or any other purposes. The bandwidth (download/upload) speed will be influenced by the quantity of shared PC. CTM shall only perform on-site support to the provided software and hardware as listed in note 11.
  4. The service is not applicable to ISP(s) except for internal use.
  5. Total charge is equal to the sum of the monthly charge and the additional usage charge by hour after the free hours (if applicable) are used up.If the actual monthly usage is below the free usage hours included in the monthly usage charge, the monthly charges should be due.
  6. The charging unit is one minute for duration.
  7. The Customer can use disk space in server to store non-commercial data or files. If the data stored exceeds the free on-line data storage capacity, the Customer will be charged at the applicable rate.
  8. All information that is considered as "Commercial", by its own nature, is prohibited be stored in this area.
  9. Customer may apply to increase the E-mail box storage but is required to pay additional charge according to the approved tariff.
  10. Customer has to apply in advance to increase e-mail storage.
  11. Connection fee includes any necessary connection, configurations and the relative working processes within CTM , on-site installation of the ADSL modem, microfilter (if necessary) provided by CTM, ADSL modem lan cable (if applicable), and the necessary software configuration.
  12. CTM shall only perform the installation of modem and microfilter provided by CTM. Customer is responsible for the installation of his own equipment. Broadband service will be provided only after all necessary equipment is properly installed.
  13. Connection fee will be charged to customer through the first bill after successful connection. Customer who simultaneously applies for a new telephone line and Residential Broadband service will be exempted with the connection charge of Broadband line. Customer thus can pay the new telephone line connection fee only if the telephone line is used for installing the Broadband service. This exemption charge cannot apply concurrently with any promotional programme of CTM Fixed Line Telephone Service and Broadband Service .
  14. Connection fee is also applicable to removal of Broadband service to another premises
  15. The connection charge is applicable to Customer requesting for an ADSL line exclusively used for Broadband but without voice service.
  16. CTM shall provide one Broadband Modem with Ethernet LAN Cable (with power adapter) and one Microfilter . Maintenance service will only be provided to above equipment. Each additional Microfilter will be charged at the approved tariff. (Microfilter will only be provided if the Broadband service is installed via the existing telephone line.)
  17. Upon termination of the Broadband service, customer should return the equipment provided by CTM in good condition. If any loss or damage beyond the normal wear-and-tear occurs, customer is liable to pay the cost of the provided equipment as follows:
  18. (i) Broadband Modem with Ethernet LAN Cable (MOP250)
    (ii) Power Adaptor of Broadband Modem (MOP100)
    (iii) Microfilter (MOP50)
  19. CTM has the right to decide whether the loss or damages of equipment are under normal wear-and-tear.
  20. Charge of each removal:
    • to other flat within the same building is MOP250
    • within the same flat is MOP150
  21. Residential connection fee can be exempted when both fixed line and Broadband service are applied with removal at the same time. Exemption fee is only applicable when the Broadband service is installed via the removal telephone line.
  22. Equipment¡¦s connection, setting and registration of IP address and Software are included.
  23. Customer who has used at least one year of CTM Fixed Line Telephone Service,/Mobile Service/ Internet services with no termination of service (TOS) record and current overdue debts towards CTM will be waived with deposit fee for the application of Broadband Service.
  24. CTM shall have the right anytime to require the Customer to provide a deposit to CTM as security payment of all charges hereunder for the use of the Broadband Services and for any loss of damage incurred or sustained by CTM as result of any non observance or non performance on the part of the customer of any terms, conditions or obligation under these terms and conditions. The amount of the deposit shall be determined by CTM at its sole discretion.
  25. Deposit will be refunded automatically when:
    a) Customer has subscribed Broadband for one year; or
    b) Customer terminated Broadband
  26. Prior to reconnecting the service, CTM may request a deposit to be made if service was disconnected due to outstanding payment.
